Chilwell School 2–1 Rushcliffe Academy
Our Year 11 team claimed a famous South Notts Cup win over a strong Rushcliffe Academy side. Chilwell started fast, with Ollie causing constant problems up front, while the RA keeper kept the scores level with a string of fine saves — including ...stopping Alfie’s first-half penalty.
At the other end, keeper Alex produced a heroic performance to deny RA repeatedly. After the break, Alfie made amends, converting a second penalty before adding a stunning volley from the edge of the box to put Chilwell in control.
A tiring pitch allowed RA back into the game with a counter-attacking goal and late pressure nearly brought an equaliser, but Chilwell’s defence held firm to seal a memorable 2–1 victory.
Player of the Match: Alfie ⚽️⚽️ — two goals and a midfield masterclass. Well done boys!!!
Our Y7 basketball team, coached by our very own Mr Forsyth, played their first games of the season against Bramcote and George Spencer last night.
Well done to all those involved and a big thank you to Mr Forsyth for coaching the boys in his CYGNUS sessions.
Dear Families,
We hope you had a lovely Christmas and would like to wish you all a very happy New Year as we begin 2026. We are very much looking forward to welcoming all students back to school tomorrow and starting the new term together.
Although our heating systems are fully ...operational and classrooms will be warm, the current spell of extreme cold weather means we kindly ask that children attend school wearing appropriate warm school clothing. Please ensure they have a warm coat, hat, scarf, gloves and suitable school footwear to keep them comfortable and safe, particularly during arrival, departure and outdoor periods.
Our school site has been gritted; however, we ask everyone to take extra care when travelling to and from school. Roads, pavements and footpaths remain slippery in places, so please allow extra time for journeys and remain vigilant when walking on and around the school grounds.
Students are expected to be in tutor rooms for 8:40am.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep everyone safe. We look forward to welcoming the students back tomorrow and to a positive and successful year ahead.
📱 Found Mobile Phone
We found a mobile phone on Thursday evening. It has been handed in to Liberty Leisure, where it can be collected from their reception.

Our very first Year 7/8 disco was a huge hit! 🕺💃 The students absolutely loved it… and so did the staff. A huge shout-out to our Year 11 prefects who were absolutely amazing — from setting up to keeping the energy high on the dance floor. It’s safe to say this will definitely be an ...event on the calendar going forward!

We kindly remind parents and carers that meetings with staff must be pre-arranged. For safeguarding and operational reasons, staff are unable to leave lessons or other duties to meet without prior notice.
If you wish to discuss a concern, please contact the school office or use the appropriate communication channels to arrange an appointment. This ensures that the right member of staff is available and that sufficient time can be given to your query.
Turning up to school and requesting an immediate meeting places pressure on staff and can disrupt learning for students. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a calm, safe, and well-organised school environment.
Thank you for your continued support in working with us positively and respectfully.
𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞
As we come to the end of a very full and successful term, I would like to thank students, staff, parents and carers for your continued support and partnership. Your commitment, generosity and positivity make our school a truly special community.
We wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year. We hope the holiday period provides time to rest, reflect and enjoy time together.
Students will return to school on Tuesday 6 January 2026 and we look forward to welcoming everyone back ready for the new term.
Warmest wishes,
